About this Stay

I stayed at the Sotetsu Hotel located in Myeongdong, the largest downtown and shopping district in Seoul.

Several Japanese hotel chains have expanded into Seoul, including Toyoko Inn, Sotetsu Hotels, and Dormy Inn. While these hotels accommodate many Japanese guests, they also target Korean customers, so there are quite a large number of Korean guests staying there as well.

I stayed for one night and had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The breakfast was served buffet-style with mainly Western dishes, but many Korean ingredients and vegetables were generously used throughout the menu.

Around the Hotel

ホテル周辺

Early the next morning, I went up to the top floor.

The door was locked so I could not go outside, but I was able to look out over the surrounding area through the windows.

Since this Sotetsu Hotel is located right in the center of Myeongdong, it is an extremely convenient location for tourists.

  • ・ N Seoul Tower (formerly Namsan Tower), the famous TV tower, can be seen in the distance.
  • ・ Shinsegae Department Store and Lotte Department Store are right in front of the hotel.
