About this flight
I flew TAP Air Portugal’s Economy Class from Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, to Porto, a port city and popular tourist destination in northern Portugal, which is also the country’s second-largest city.
At Lisbon Airport, I waited for my flight in TAP Air Portugal’s lounge. Portugal offers a wide variety of delicious foods, and I enjoyed several treats there, including Portugal’s beloved national sweet, the custard tart (pastel de nata), as well as other baked goods, fresh bread, and marinated octopus.
The flight from Lisbon to Porto took about 40 minutes.

Egg Tarts and Other Cakes

Portugal is famous for its egg tarts, which are considered a national sweet. These custard tarts are made with rich egg yolk custard baked in a flaky pastry shell.
Although egg tarts can also be found in countries like China, they are said to have originated in Portugal, created by nuns in a local monastery.
The three trays on the left are “Pastéis de Nata,” the Portuguese egg tarts, while the right side features various other cakes.
