Main Entrance of Departure Lobby
This is Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), Vietnam’s largest city. This area is the main entrance to the departure lobby.

Lounge Entrance
This is the entrance to the “Le Saigonnais” lounge at Tan Son Nhat Airport.
This lounge is the airport’s most exclusive, available to First and Business Class passengers. Airlines such as JAL and ANA also use this lounge.
Lounge Dining – Pho
This is the pho counter in the lounge.
There are bowls, rice noodles, hot broth, toppings (bean sprouts, onions, scallions, etc.), and seasonings (citrus, spices) so that guests can prepare their own bowl of pho.

Malaysia Airlines Lounge
I arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
I used the Malaysia Airlines First Class Lounge. As a JAL Diamond member, I was eligible to access the First Class Lounge.

Dining in the Lounge
The Malaysia Airlines First Class Lounge has a dedicated dining area where you can order from a menu. Being able to enjoy your meal like in a restaurant while watching the aircraft parked outside is truly a pleasant experience.

It’s a one-plate meal of rice cooked with coconut oil, served with various side dishes.

- The flavor is defined by sambal sauce—a spicy Southeast Asian condiment made with onions, garlic, and chili. The side dish that day was chicken curry.

Business Class Seat
This is the Business Class seat on the Kuala Lumpur–Hong Kong flight.
The aircraft is a Boeing 737-800, a relatively compact plane with about 162 standard seats. Although it’s smaller compared to the Business Class seats on wide-body aircraft, the space and legroom are still comfortable for a flight of around 3 to 4 hours.

Welcome Drink
The welcome drink was guava juice.
A warm towel was also provided along with the drink.

The left page lists the food items, while the right page features the wine selection.
The meal begins with Malaysia’s signature starter, “Satay” (grilled skewers).
You can choose between chicken, lamb, or a combination of both.
Following that, a salad, main course, and dessert are served.
About the Satay
Malaysia Airlines has been serving satay as part of its in-flight meals since 1973. The menu includes an explanation of what makes their satay so delicious:
- Meat: High-quality cuts of meat are used
- Marinade: Shallots, turmeric, garlic, galangal, and lemongrass
- Charcoal: Grilled over mangrove charcoal
- Sauce: Finely chopped peanuts mixed with coconut milk and spices
