About this flight
This is a business class flight report for ANA’s New York route.
On this day, the departure time for the flight to New York was exactly 11:00 AM, with an expected arrival time of 10:40 AM local time. The New York route is one of ANA’s longest flights, with a total flight duration of 12 hours and 30 minutes.
The aircraft for this journey was the Boeing 777-300ER, manufactured by the U.S.-based Boeing Company. ANA has designated this aircraft as a key model for long-haul international flights. The business class cabin featured the “ANA BUSINESS STAGGERED” seating configuration, designed for enhanced comfort and privacy.
Here, I will share several moments from my business class experience on one of ANA’s flagship long-haul routes to New York.

Narita Airport Terminal 1

I arrived at Narita Airport Terminal 1, South Wing, for departure. The excitement of the upcoming journey was building.
Currency Exchange

Since tipping is common in many situations in the U.S., I exchanged extra $1 bills at the bank on the right, specifically for tips.
Just Before Immigration

From here, I proceeded to the security checkpoint, followed by immigration procedures.
Busy Boarding Gate for Another Flight

After passing through immigration, I headed toward the lounge.
At Narita Airport Terminal 1 South Wing, ANA operates both the ANA SUITE LOUNGE and ANA LOUNGE at two locations—Satellite 4 and Satellite 5—beyond the immigration area.
On this day, I made my way to the ANA LOUNGE in Satellite 4, which is accessible for Business Class passengers.
On my way to the lounge, I came across passengers boarding the Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt.
That unique sense of excitement and anticipation—traveling somewhere far away, stepping into the extraordinary—is a feeling that makes traveling such a rewarding experience.
ANA Lounge

Star Wars: Battle Pod

Right at the entrance of the lounge, there was a "Star Wars: Battle Pod" arcade game machine.
This seems to be part of the collaboration between ANA and Star Wars, which includes special Star Wars-themed aircraft liveries operated by ANA.
According to the official website of Bandai, the maker of the game, the Star Wars: Battle Pod is a high-speed arcade shooter featuring a dome screen where players can step inside and be surrounded by immersive visuals from the Star Wars universe. The game offers full-body sensations with features like vibration, wind effects, and 5.1-channel surround sound, making players feel as if they've been transported directly into the world of the films.
Although I didn’t play it myself, the lounge staff mentioned that you can receive a coin from the reception desk and insert it into the machine to play.
Model Plane with Star Alliance Livery

Also near the entrance, there was a large model of an ANA Boeing 787-9, featuring the common Star Alliance livery. ANA is a member of the global airline alliance Star Alliance, and this model highlights that partnership.
Tonkotsu Ramen and More in the Lounge

The lounge offers a variety of beverages, including soft drinks and alcohol. In addition, there’s a buffet with sandwiches, soups, fruits, and rice balls, along with a noodle bar where you can order freshly prepared soba and udon. Before my flight, I enjoyed a bowl of tonkotsu ramen, along with some salad and bread.

This is the ANA Boeing 777-300ER, being prepared for departure. The striking combination of dark blue, light blue, white, and gray, along with the ANA logo and the Japanese flag, shines brightly on the aircraft’s body.
Boarding Gate

After leaving the ANA LOUNGE, I arrived at the boarding gate for ANA Flight 10 to New York. Around me were not only business travelers but also tourists, transit passengers from across Asia, and American families. This diversity is part of what makes flights to the U.S. so fascinating. It’s an exciting moment as the anticipation for the journey ahead builds.

Business Class Seat

I took my seat in ANA’s Boeing 777-300ER Business Class, known as "ANA BUSINESS STAGGERED". This seat can be transformed into a fully flat bed at the push of a button, allowing you to lie down comfortably and sleep. Every seat has direct aisle access, so you don’t have to worry about disturbing or being disturbed by neighboring passengers when getting up. An emerald green amenity kit is provided, which includes items like L'Occitane moisturizing serum, a toothbrush set, and an eye mask.
Business Class Cabin View

Each seat features a 17-inch wide-screen monitor.Sony noise-canceling headphones are provided, allowing you to enjoy a wide selection of movies, TV programs, and music channels. You’ll also find power outlets and USB ports conveniently available.
View of the Adjacent Business Class Seats

The Business Class cabin on the ANA 777-300ER is arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, with just four seats across each row, separated by two aisles. The staggered layout creates a spacious and private personal space for each passenger.

About an hour after takeoff, the in-flight meal service begins. Menus are distributed, and after the white tablecloth is laid out, each passenger is first served a cold beverage. You can enjoy a selection of carefully curated champagne, red and white wines, Japanese sake, and various other alcoholic beverages, as well as a range of soft drinks.
Amuse-Bouche

Along with the drink, an amuse-bouche (a small appetizer served before the starter) is offered. It includes delicious bites such as pâté, olives, and cheese.
Appetizer: Full View

Both Japanese and Western menus are available. I chose the Western option, which featured prosciutto, salmon roe (ikura), and a crab tartare.
Main Course (1): Full View

For the main course on the Western menu, you can choose between meat or fish. I opted for the beef steak.
Main Course (2): Meat Dish

The beef was tender, and I believe it was one of the finest steaks I’ve ever had onboard an aircraft.
Dessert

For dessert, I enjoyed cake and cheese to finish the meal.
