JAL First Class Lounge

By this time, I had already become a JAL Diamond member, so even with an economy class ticket, I was able to access JAL’s First Class Lounge at Narita Airport. Here’s the meal I enjoyed inside the lounge.

• Sushi
• Ramen from a famous restaurant
• Roast beef, octopus, and squid
• Two types of cheese, olives, and pickled scallions
• Champagne, etc.

I went back for a few more dishes.

Business Class Seats

This is a view of the business class seats that I saw while walking to my economy class seat. These are staggered-style seats on the Boeing 767. Each row alternates the position of the seat and side table to optimize space and privacy, allowing every seat direct aisle access. The seats recline fully to 180 degrees, though since the 767 is a relatively narrow aircraft, the seats themselves felt somewhat compact in width.

These are the economy class seats. The black color scheme gives the cabin a calm and relaxed feel.

Arrival at the Airport

We arrived in Kaohsiung, located in southern Taiwan.

Heading into the City

Kaohsiung Airport is conveniently located, about 20 minutes by taxi from downtown. I decided to walk toward the city center.

I could see an EVA Air aircraft from within the airport grounds.
