About this flight
At that time, I was a JAL Diamond member, so I was able to use the First Class Lounge at the airport.
The main JAL First Class Lounge at Narita Airport features a dining area on the second floor and a bar area on the first floor, where I enjoyed delicious meals and drinks in each space. I also took the opportunity to visit the satellite-side JAL Lounge.

Class J Seat
I had already known in advance that the aircraft for this flight would be a Boeing 787-8, which is typically used for international routes. So, I decided to upgrade to a Class J seat at the airport. The Class J seats on this aircraft are actually the same as the business class seats used on international flights. My main goal was to experience this seat, and I was very happy that I managed to do so.
Adjacent Seat
This photo shows the seat next to mine after I sat down. Even for a business class seat, it offers a spacious layout with plenty of room. It had been since my New York flight in July 2014 that I last sat in a business class seat of this design, so I was truly glad to experience it again.
